24 Hours in Osaka...

...i had a hot, sweaty, action-packed whirlwind stay in osaka this weekend...it's about a 3 hour train ride from kanazawa through mountains, rice paddies, and along the shore of lake biwa, the largest lake in japan...i, along with several other friends, stayed with my friend andrew, who was gracious enough to crank up the air conditioning full-bore in order to keep us comfortable...
...it was a reunion of sorts since i used to work with andrew (the guy with glasses) before we both ventured out beyond the cozy confines of kuki city...also party to our weekend were my former-coworker/current friend bobby pierce (the crazy looking one), his girlfriend claire (the girl), and yanomi and kuronatsu, who together form the duo 'shoshinz'...as you can see, they do a kind of performance art, i guess i would call it, that involves singing, dancing, miming, and of course the funky getups...
...the reason we were all together was because this group is all performing at an open mic night on sunday evening, which i unfortunately couldn't stick around for since i actually have to go back to work tomorrow...andrew is resurrecting his stand-up comedy routine, bobby is promoting his 'get involved!' one man music enterprise (check his blog under my links to the right), and shoshinz is doing their thing as well...by the way, you can check out and attempt to read more about them at their website
...it was all-to-short a stay, but as always it was great, and entirely entertaining to hang out with bobby and andrew again...hopefully we'll be joining forces again in the near future...
...as for me, it's time to break out the iron again and start pressing my clothes for tomorrow...back to school, back to school...i'm looking forward to this term, and tweaking some of the things i did last term that didn't work so well...i've had a nice vacation, but i'll be good to be busy again...
