Hot, Hot, Hot

...yes, it's pretty dang warm here in japan...luckily chieko and i are chilling with our new air conditioner, so we can inhabit more of our apartment than just the kitchen, which is always nice...
...have been heading in to work for a few hours a day this week starting to get ready for classes, which start on the 21st...i returned to my office to find that the roof had been leaking while i was gone, so there was some nasty stuff that looked liked dried coffee all over my desk and computer, which fortunately seems to work still...
...a some folks back home were curious about what our apartment here in japan is like, and now that it's more or less tidied up, i'm ready to post a few pictures...it's a little cluttered and believe it or not we still have some decorating to do, but for the time being this is about as good as it gets, so enjoy...

...i also want to post a picture of my recently acquired wedding ring, which i ordered from grannis gallery up in burlington, vermont...i was looking for something simple and unique, and i think i did ok...this ring has stripes of white, pink, yellow and green gold, and sterling silver in the middle...i wasn't aware there were so many different types of gold...but now i know...chieko hasn't gotten a ring yet, but she has some contenders, and i'm sure i'll be dragged down to the jewelry shop sometime soon, which is always thrilling for me as she and the saleswoman make jokes about me and laugh at me while i sit there not comprehending what they are sayin...ah, can't wait...

...so that's all the news that's news from around here...we're about to head out and get some dinner at a restaurant called 'garlic garlic'...can't go wrong with that...

Am I a color blind? I don't see the green gold..
Also, yes, it went wrong with Garlic Garlic. Can't believe that they are out of business! It was one of the finest restaurants downtown!! Well, now we have to live off small portioned Japanese food.. :(

you're not color blind...the 'green' gold is the second closest to middle...next to the silver...it's green only in the vaguest sense of the word...

That's a purdy ring, boy... Congratulations on your safe, but long return to Japan- I only hope that you can make it back to New England soon. Until then, keep-on-a-bloggin'...
