Blickety Blam!

...oh tis a good day for me here folks as i have taken delivery of my gibson j-45 back from the luthier, fran, who own and operates bay fretted instrument, and to whom i am very greatful...i know there is probably only one person (sean), maybe two (nick, if you ever read this) who are even remotely interested in what i have done here, and it is for you and you alone that i detail the latest, and by far most ambitious alterations i have made to my guitar, with pictures of course...so lets get started

1. new waverly tuners with ebony nobs on them--these are vintage looking, open-back tuners that look cool and are very precise when it comes to small adjustments

2. bone saddle and nut--as a material, bone is supposed to be dense and thus conveys sound better...i was told it would have a positive effect on the low/mid range of my guitar...so far i haven't noticed a huge difference, but i haven't played it all that much yet...so the verdict is out for now

3. removed pick guard--this is an idea that has been festering in my mind for a while, purely an asthetic detail but one that i think gives the guitar a more simple, complete look and also sets it apart from other j-45's

4. rosewood bridge pins--i've mentioned these before but figured i'd put it here again; can't say they do a whole lot for sound but they look nice since they're the same wood as the bridge

...ok, enough describin', i'm going to go strum this thing till my fingers bleed, or at least until the novelty wears off
