...here's a big, hearty, slightly bitter, minutely homesick omedetto gozaimasu, merry christmas to everyone who might be reading this, especially if you are actually in a country where christmas doesn't involve eating kentucky fried chicken...
...ok enough of that attitude...sometimes, especially in japan (just a little more of that attitude), you have to dig in and create your own christmas spirit, which is what i did this afternoon, when i dusted off the old mac laptop i use to occassionally record music, broke out the gibson and a harmonica, and played the only christmas song i know how to play...so if you're looking for a little present-opening music by someone you don't know at all, or if your just slightly curious, click on SANTA CLAUS and listen away...there are a few other gems of mine on that site, but you'll see the christmas tune is at the top of the list...
...so here i sit on christmas eve, about to go choose my wardrobe for tomorrow and iron it...unsurprisingly, i'm having an extra glass of wine this evening because, really, i'm in japan, 5,000 miles from my family, it's christmas eve, and i HAVE TO WORK TOMORROW...i'm reminded of wise words by that sage homer j. simpson, who mused: 'alcohol, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems'...couldn't agree more there homer...luckily i have a wonderful, semi-americanized japanese wife to spend the evening with, so although she's not into christmas as much as i am, at least i'm not ALONE!!......so all bitterness aside, merry christmas everyone...i hope whoever is reading this has a wonderful holiday season (if you're into that sort of thing, of course) and a happy, safe new year...
