Autumn Splendor...Sort Of

...while my home turf in new england has passed it's prime in terms of fall foliage, here in kanazawa, which has more of a mid-atlantic climate, we are a little bit further behind...the problem here is there just aren't many trees, so while the weather may be cooling, there's no real tangible sign of fall other than the cooling temperature...even in the mountains, at least around here, most of the trees are covered with fir and cedar type trees, so they stay green all the time...
...so as i was strolling around today, noticing the lack of trees, i did find a surprising abundance of fall-blooming flowers, and spiders, of course, which i can't believe aren't dead yet...why won't they just die so i can park my bike in peace???
...so here are a few pictures of flowers that i snapped this afternoon, and the one tree i could find, which displayed mediocre (ok, crappy) foliage...
