...at least not in japan...yet...and hopefully it won't be...but just to give an idea, none of the japanese news sites/chat rooms i frequent have even mentioned it, nor is it on the TV nonstop as i'm sure it is back home, especially now that the warning has been extended to some US territories...
...of course 'tsunami' is a bit of a buzzword these days and i have to admit it's one of those gruesomely fascinating kind of things to see, so i don't necessarily blame the US media for grabbing onto it...
...now, on a personal note, a little geography lesson...i live in kanazawa, japan...if you have no idea where kanazawa is, i don't blame you...but it's on the west coast, the 'sea of japan' if you live in japan, though if you live in korea it's DEFINITELY not call that...this puts me a good several hundred miles away from the pacific ocean, and hopefully out of harms way for this particular tsunami...so go ahead and blow up this map (you may have to blow it up twice to read it well, sorry it's not great, but this is BREAKING NEWS and i have to get this post to press!!), and take a look for kanazawa...it's almost directly across the country from tokyo...
...from what i can gather, the earthquake was located up north somewhere out in the ocean, and folks on the mainland didn't even feel it (got that from cnn baby!!)...

...ironically, we've been once again getting pounded with thunder and lightning all evening...some might close strikes around here...which i suppose is better than a tsunami now isn't it...seriously though, hopefully nobody will be hurt by this bitch slap from mother nature, and it's just another case of US media blowing things wildly out of proportion...and thanks to those concerned who prompted my mother to call me and make sure i was OK ;-)
