Ouch...

...today my body hurts...my back, and especially my ribcage...yesterday my friend kent and i went to the batting cages...it's been at least two years since i've swung a bat, which begs the question of why exactly i thought i could step into the batter's box and start spraying line-drives all over the place, swinging at full speed, as though i'd never missed a beat during the ten years that have elapsed since my baseball career peetered out in senior babe ruth...80 mph, why not? i couldn't hit a 80 mph pitch when i actually played baseball, but that didn't stop me...
...the problem stems not from hitting the pitches, but from missing them...make contact, and things generally remain intact...completely whiff, everything hurts, badly...did it mention it was about 40 degrees? in short, i feel old...that's not good...but i have faith, and wounded pride, and i know that the 90 mph machine was throwing low gas, and next time i'll adjust it so it's up in my while wheelhouse and i'll spray them line-drives like i'm watering the lawn baby...
...but tonight i'm just going to relax, and try not to move very much...
