A Beard is Lost...

...so i've been growing a beard for the last three months or so...lately i've been having an internal debate with myself as to whether i liked the bearded casey look...doubt had begun to creep in, and when i got an email from my grandmother the other day suggesting that i 'lose the beard,' well, that was the proverbial whisker that broke casey's beard...and so last night, after dinner, i opened a new pack of razor blades and set to it...the process took about 45 minutes since i had to trim the beard first with scissors, then shave small areas at a time...i had some fun along the way, and if anyone wants to see what i look like with a hitler mustache let me know and i'll email you a picture...

...one last look

...everyone should have a handlebar mustache at some point in their life, even if it's only for about five minutes...

...back from the dead...i feel naked...oh, i AM naked...

...so what have a learned from this experience??...about what you'd expect to learn from growing a beard...there are some parts of my face that simply will not sprout hair no matter how long go without shaving...not shaving is nice but i still had to shave my neck every few days, and i'd have to trim my mustache once the hairs started curling down over my lip...so it wasn't totally zero maintanance...
...i also developed a keen sense of whether or not someone accepted my beard or not...generally, when upon meeting someone, if they say 'what's that?' in reference to the beard, especially with a certain tone of disgust in their voice, they are not a fan of the bearded casey...
...and so things are back to normal in terms of me and my facial hair...
...chieko and i are off to the neighboring town this afternoon for what is rumored to be very sexually charged, sake drenched festival...think penises and breasts from which alcohol springeth...pictures to follow...
