Tsurugi Festival...

...first things first, apologies that there are no pictures of sake-spewing anatomical parts, as hinted at in my previous post...while there was pleanty of sake to be had at this festival, it came in more traditional 'cups' which were generally filled from 'bottles'...it was a bit of a let down, but soon enough i didn't have a care in the world...

...we arrived at the festival around 6pm and things were just getting started...we spent an hour or so strolling up and down the food street and eating cotton candy, candy apples, sweet potato french fries, fried chicken, and candied grapes...

...chieko finds jesus at the local shrine...or is she just drinking her beer??

...things got started when a group of men carried this small but heavy shrine down the road...they would stop every few yards to sing, chant, drink, and rest...you could tell these guys were tired from having to do this the previous night as well...

...this guy was very friendly and very drunk...he talked to us for a while before he was called to parade duty...

...is that osama bin laden?? notice the bucket o'sake hanging by one man's side...
