...we are in the heart of perfectly mint fall weather here in kanazawa, so chieko and i did something we've been meaning to do for a while, and took a drive to the nearby noto penninsula, a craggy finger shaped hunk of japan pointing out at the sea...it was a nice drive, and i actually did a bit of driving which probably was a bad thing but sometimes, you know, you just have to break the law...
...we did a lot of driving along the coast, and as we were cruising along i kept noticing shiny brown lumps along the shoreline, so when we had a chance we pulled off and walked down to the beach...low and behold, lots more of those giant jelly fish i showcased a few posts ago...so without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, behold japan's noto penninsula, and some big, dead jelly fish...
...actually, a little further ado...i want to apologize to these crows who were none to pleased that i came along to take pictures of their lunch...they were going to town on the jellies, and a few other carcasses on the beach...
...here you see me, giving perspective to how big and nasty these jelly fish are...i'm not sure if they sting, but even if they don't, i still don't want to be anywhere near them in the water, dead or alive...
...this was like a jelly fish party, except everyone is dead...look at the pretty blue one...saw a few of those...
...these were some of the bigger jelly fish, and they were getting flipped all around in the surf...not very nice...
...and we'll end this picture segment with a this pile of slimy death...this is one big mass of dead jelly fish, along with a pretty good sized stingray...unsurprisingly, this was the focal point of crow activity...
...i have never seen so much carnage on a beach...back home on cape cod, you'll find a dead fish here and there, once in you might find a seagull bone or something, but this place, my god...it was a site to behold...
