The End of an Era...

...yes, sadly this is the last weekend of my 27th year of life...on wednesday i will be crossing into my 28th year as an inhabitant of earth...so how did i spend this special time??? well, yesterday i did laundry, and went running!! last night, i switched into debauch-mode and we went out to dinner, where there was a belly dancer, who was quite entertaining...following dinner was a booze fueled session of karaoke with friends/coworkers, followed by a taxi ride home around 2:30 in the morning, followed by chieko and i eating curry and going to bed...
...unsurprisingly, i slept until about noon today, and then went into the office for a few hours to get ready for the week...
here is my karaoke setlist (or at least the ones i remember):
-'daniel' by elton john
-'don't look back in anger' by oasis
-'blue christmas' by elvis
-'octopus's garden' by the beatles
-'rocky raccoon'(twice) by the beatles
-'bad moon rising' by creedence clearwater revival
-'taylor' by jack johnson
...just a quick not on karaoke in japan...in the US i've only seen karaoke in bars, where you have to sing in front of tons of people you don't know...being a karaoke loving nation, the situation in japan is different...you (and your friends if you have any) pay to use your own room that has a TV, karaoke system, and several phonebook size songbooks from which you choose you tunes...then you enter the song number into a giant remote control and the songs play in the order you choose...a proper establishment will also supply you with tamborines and shakers...and of course there's a phone in each room so you can call in orders for beer, or whatever else you may want to eat or drink...it's quite a set they have, and souls have indeed been lost to karaoke...
...for some inexcusable reason i failed to take ANY pictures of karaoke last night, but i will be sure to do so next time...
...ok, bed time for me...happy sunday to all...
