Mmmmmm.....Meat

...twas a feastly afternoon here as the English department at my school held a belated welcome party for Chieko and me...I'm surprised this style of cooking/eating hasn't caught on in the US as it combines all the things we Americans love...meat, beer, fire and friends...it's actually a Korean style BBQ called yakinikku...'yaki' meaning 'fried' and 'nikku' meaning 'meat'...anyway, it's a great way to have a meal, and there are many restaurants here that showcase this kind of cuisine...they bring a pot full of hot coals to your your table and then come plates of meat, vegetables and various sea creatures that you cook up yourself while chatting and swilling beer...I've been to some places that have the conveyor belt churning along and you just grab plates as they go by...probably my favorite way to eat here in Japan, even though it's Korean in origin...I'll spend the rest of the afternoon in repose as my stomach contemplates what to do with itself now that it has a few days worth of food in itself...and speaking of meat, if you wish to be thoroughly disgusted, take a look at these pictures of a guy who was bitten by a rattle snake...

i'll have to wait to check out the rattlesnake bites... just got home from my car adventure and i need lunch. don't think rotting flesh would go well with yakisoba. thanks again "click and clack".
