...that i've bought yet another set of bridge pins for my guitar???? i am in full-on tinker mode with my guitar, and given the affordability (is that a word?) of bridge pins, and the variety of materials in which they are available, they are one fun thing to tinker with, for me at least...for example, bridge pins come in plastic, lots of different types of wood, brass, bone, ivory, and a slew of various fossilized animal parts, mostly consisting of teeth or tusks...those ones, as you can imagine, are substantially more expensive than the paultry $15 i have been paying...
the pins you are looking at are made from rosewood, a very fine tonewood...the reason i was curious about trying these is because my bridge is made of rosewood, and i've heard that having pins and bridge made of the same material has nice results...so far, i am happy...honestly i don't hear a huge difference between the bone pins and these, but the tone of the guitar seems to have changed a little...that's about as descriptive as i can get since i don't really have any idea what i'm talking about...but i have high hopes...and you know i'll keep you posted...i'd love to talk to you about the kinds of strings i have been trying out, but if you are still actually reading this, such discussion would surely drive you away...
so instead, i will tell you that today was my last day of actual teaching for the term...next week is just testing and test correcting and grade computing...and tomorrow morning i have to go have a school-sponsored health check up, which will be interesting i've heard...if the rumors are true, i'll have a report up here soon...and now, my weekend shall commence...good night
